Forums - Gaming - Any other games that are Pheonix Wright-esque? Detective like games?

So I'm playing through the pheonix wright series (Evangelizers of his gospel of awesome, such as Naz convinved me to do so) and I freakin' love it. Fantastic games. I love the drama, I love the detective aspects of it, I love the characters. I love the whole scene. Especially in light of the fact that I just recently also stumbled upon an Anime known as Death Note (some of you no doubt know it), so for me right now prodigious detectives are in vogue in my mind. So like a kid wanting to play super hero, I am all about living out my brilliant detective fantasies that Death Note has inspired in me, the searching for clues, the deductive reasoning, discovering people's secrets that they erroneously thought they could hide from brilliant minds that see all the pieces and put them together!! Pheonix wright is filling that role at the moment, but at some point I will need more fuel for my fantasies.

SIDE NOTE: WHAT THE HELL KIND OF BUG IS THAT ON MY WALL? I MEAN IT'S NOT BIG, BUT IT'S NOT A SPIDER BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS...OK I EXAMINED CLOSER AND IT WAS JUST A SPIDER IT IS DEAD NOW.

So does anyone know of some other good detective story/games that have that vibe of "I am such a super awesome detective, you can't hide your shit from me, because I will find it and crush it like a spider on a wall, and when I crush that spider the guts of fucking truth will run on my fingers. And the truth.... it tastes sweet." Anything like that? If there are any animes like that I'd be interested in that as well...but nothing will be as good as death note in my mind.

I'm glad the spider is dead.
But I don't know of any either, though I want to find some, LIFE IS ROUGH AFTER YOU BEAT ALL THE ACE ATTORNEY GAMES, ALL THAT'S LEFT IS A VOID.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Indeed, the series is awesome. I must have played through every case in the first 3 games 4 times each.
I don't know of any other games that are like that. As for anime, there is Detective Conan. I've never watched it, so i can't vouch for it's quality. It's also got a far lighter tone than Death Note to.

Not a game but...

Case Closed/Detective Conan

I loved Hotel Dusk, but the protagonist is more of a hard-nosed gumshoe, and not really a super-slick know-it-all.

I liked the game just as much as the Ace Attorney games though, so maybe you will too.

Hotel Dusk gets my vote. I found it better than the Ace Attorney games in a few respects (though it doesn't compare in terms of music, of course).

Actually, you know what? Here.

lol, unfortunately I already have a copy of the complete sherlock holmes. I do like him as well. Not too sure about the upcoming movie with robert downey jr. though. I mean it looks cool...but it seems to focus on action and robert downey jr being adorable more so than holmes being a deductive genius that smokes opium.

I don't know if modern audiences are ready for an unironic dope-smoking hero.
