Yeah it's an excellent device all around, they deserves a load of sales. Its selling so well every damn case sold out the moment Best Buy got them in, and they are backordered 2 weeks online

Even my local walmart sold out though I got one :p but we got more in, but they are selling well for something that isn't sitting front and center... they really need to have a demo version out for people to look at

The Apple Fanboys are out in full force with tons of hateraid to hand out... I haven't seen orginized hate on this level since the last Klan rally

I want an iPod Touch G4 or a Google based MP3 player. Zune HD is good, but limited.

Zune HD is GREAT !!

For me the best MP3 out there , better than Ipod...

Now MS just need a ZunePhone or ZPhone.

Why Zune HD will be big success? Simples:

• Zune HD owners get for 15 bucks a month a subscription music service, where they can keep 10 songs a month without additional fee. Practically speaking it is: unlimited music for free. Since Apple refuses to offer subscription service through iTunes, Microsoft practically has no competition.
• Zune HD is much smaller and thus more comfortable to carry than iPod Touch from Apple, that looks in comparison like a brick.
• Zune HD offers built-in terrestrial radio of higher quality (HD radio) that is directly competing with satellite radio (Sirius XM) and has big chances to beat satellite radio as satellite radio is subscription-only.

Commentary: Zune HD is a testing ground for upcoming Windows Mobile 7 and for Microsoft Phone (likely based on Zune HD platform). Clearly Zune HD is just the beginning of spreading of Zune service to other platforms and once it will arrive to Windows Mobile (end of 2010 or early 2011) it will contribute to the resurrection of Windows Mobile as a top 2-3 smartphone platform.

Obviously we have ahead of us the launch of Windows Mobile 6.5 - that takes place on October 6, 2009, but this is just a stopgap release and although it has Zune-HD-like home screen plugin, the real fun will begin with arrival of Zune service to Windows Mobile... For now: we advice you to own both: Windows Mobile phone and Zune HD player - you will not regret it!

This isn't too great a surprise, I guess. It sometimes takes MS a few product generations (Windows UI vs Mac OS UI), but they sometimes eventually get it right. The Zune HD appears to finally be a product that has the right combination of features and looks.

I wonder if MS has considered the following tag line for the Zune HD:

"The new Zune HD: 93.7% less ugly!"

Now they just need to get the Zune store on the 360 so if you have videos on your ZuneHD you can play them through the 360 when plugged in

Have they added any type of Zune functionality with the 360 besides the basic muisc/movie/picture veiwing feature? It would be nice to be able to transfer the other way.
