Forums - General - I don't understand the appeal of BluRay combo packs

So I was watching TV earlier tonight and I see a commercial for the BluRay version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  At the end of the commercial they start making a big deal about the DVD tie-in.

I've seen these before and I even have a few but I've juts never understood the appeal of the BluRay/DVD combo packs.  The HD-DVD/DVD combo discs made sense to me because they were the same disc and those just didn't seem as crazy for some reason, but I've just never understood the extra disc.

Around the Network

It's two fold. If people think (or hope) they will go HD they MIGHT buy a combo pack. That is then a self-fulfilling prophecy as they go on too buy a Blu-Ray player once they have HD capable DVD's.

The second option is people with Blu-Ray players MAY want the durability to take their DVD's to the homes of people that don't have Blu-Ray
