Awesomeness - the rental store I work in has got a couple of early copies of Halo 3: ODST. I'll rent out a copy tomorrow and give it a go. Impressions once I've played it.

I got a copy too. Rogers Video in Canada has it...but they are not selling/renting it yet. My roomate is the manager so he's bringing over a copy after work.

No need to worry about ban hammer as long as its a retail copy that you got.

Meh, my manager's hidden both copies. (Or so he says. I wouldn't be shocked if he's taken one or both of them home to try himself.) So no early impressions from me, I'm afraid.

Oh well, guess I'll have to wait for the official release. My housemate will be buying it (he's a big Halo fanboy), so I'll be looking forward to the 4 player splitscreen Firefight. Gears 2 Horde splitscreen was incredibly fun, and this looks be to be taken it up another notch.
