what do you mean?

the games are phenomenons

GTAIII wasn't the big deal it was because it was a good game, it was the big deal it was because of all the controversy in the game.

Sure, you know it as fun for various reasons but your mom knows about it because it's that game you can kill hookers and hot cofee.

Every game R* is making isn't edgy or pushing the line because they think that's what they need to do to push the medium, they are doing it because they want to create that same controversy.  Sadly someone there hasn't realized that GTAIII was just a case of in the right place at the right time.

Strange though, GTA III isn't even biggest game in the series. Both GTA: VC and GTA: SA sold much more than GTA III. So they were in the right place at the right time three times in a row. Even GTA IV sold more than GTA III (combined off course) although it was thought as sales disappointment.

Yeah, but GTAIII is what got them that spotlight they're desperately trying to keep.

Just look at any game they've released since then and look for the controversy.  I garauntee you there will be some crazy extreme controversial thing in GTAV and The Agent.
