Forums - Sony - TRANSSONY: REVENGE OF THE PLAYSTATION, see the title in oct

Guess we can expect FF Versus XIII in the end of 2010 though, dont forget about this one guys. And over all I am totally satisfied since I am no millionaire and cant afford too much titles anyways. From the list above Uncharted 2, Demons Souls and Way of Samurai 3 are my picks - I already have Demons Souls and its a AAA title in my eyes - awesome (J)RPG without Anime style though

Life is short... It is all about priorities!

I am a Freerider 4 life, no matter if on a surfboard in the sea, a snowboard or ski in the mountains or the combo with a kite in the plains... Adrenaline's my engine and better than any video game can ever be - Check it out! ^.^b

This boost sony is having wont last forever, the fact remains that apart from god of war and gran turismo, none of their first party exclusive franchises have reached critical penetration. UNCHARTED2 will likely bomb like the first.

If 2.5 million is now being considered bombing, then I hope the second one bombs like he first one as well

It "sold" that amount through aggressive bundling, just like viva pinata

So how much did the bundling increase the total by then?

Well it didnt even make the top 10 in the november 2007 NPD's (it released on nov 17) Meaning it sold less than 370,000 units in its first month. Considering the front loaded nature of HD title sales this generation, I'd say bundling accounts for the vast majority of its ostensive sales.

Well it wasnt even bundled until November of last year when it already had 1.75 million sales, and it was only bundled with the 160GB PS3.   So that would leave only a possibility of 750K to be made up by bundles.  And I highly doubt that all 750K were sold only by bundling, but even if it were 750k is far from the vast majority that you are claiming.  One also has to consider that this was one of the first games to get trophies, and when it did get trophies it saw a huge spike in sales.   So stop considering the nature of the generation and start looking up the number before talking out your ass.

It was bundled in some European territories as early as 2007, which funnily enough is where the majority of Uncharted's sales are supposed to come from (funny how it sells the most in the one country we dont get definitive sales numbers for)

Can't Wait for Demon's souls, Uncharted 2 & GT5

@Chacron

You're wrong..that's all there is to it. A brand new IP selling 2.5 million copies is in no way shape or form a bomb. Quite the contrary, I think the game did amazingly well for a new IP, and I expect sales of 2 to surpass sales of the first by quite a bit.

I put Uncharted 2 around 3.5-4 million LTD. Even when Uncharted 2 comes out, I think Uncharted 1 will still sell and end up LTD around 3 million LTD at least.

Ok dude, say it sold quite a bit through bundling.

What we are going to do is wait and see how Uncharted 2 does and then *bump this thread* in a few months and announce here whether Uncharted 2 did no better than Uncharted, whether it bombed, etc.  Sound good, wanna take the challenge?  Please do.  And if you are right, YOU bump the thread.

@Chacron

you talk so much shit but you don't know jack shit. Uncharted sold 1.7m cause of great legs b4 it was bundled but you seem to act as if the game didn't even made it to 1m(not surprising cause as I said you don't know jack shit) and got up to 2.5m via bundles.

see when the bundle started?
