Forums - Microsoft - Will Microsoft lower the Arcade price? (In response to Wii price cut)

I'd rather see them reduce the price of 120 gig hard drive. I would love to buy one, but it almost cost as much as the arcade system. What kind of sense does that make?

It makes them a lot of money when little timmy gets his arcade for xmas and needs a harddrive to use the xbox 360's best features 3 months later. Same witht he wifi adapter. you can get a router for 20 bucks too but when little timmy has to put his console in the basement or bedroom to play he needs wifi. And then little Timmy needs to play halo with his friends online if he wants to fit in. Another 50 bucks.

And then little timmys parents go bankrupt and there house goes into forcelosur. all due to MSFT addons.

But seriously that why.

My problem is I have a 20 gig launch unit and I'm tired of not having enough space.  Now that the elite is $299, I've honestly thought buying that instead.  If Microsoft wants to overcharge for accessories they're not doing anything new, but now that the price of the elite has come down, the hard drive price should come down as well.

agreed, id just trade in your system maybe a few games you dont play, using your 10% edge card if you frequent gamestop.....and maybe roll the dice with a used elite for an extra 10% discount, probably get the elite for the same price as the 120gb hardrive in the end.

Highly doubt it, wouldnt have much effect imo :/

If Microsoft were to cut the price of the arcade again. I would go out and buy one. My Xbox now does not have an HDMI port and it is now out of warranty. And if they bundle it with a couple of games like they have been since the beginning of this gen. Than you are gettina an awesome deal.

I mean for $150 you get
The best system of the gen.
(Lets say) $30 worth of games
A $50 controller
A $80 powerbrick
I think that it would be an awesome deal. You would have to be foolish not to pick that baby up
Though I don't think they would

It is the best system of the gen but it breaks like the worst one, right ?

whatever, I just hope they dont drop the price :

With any luck, the new Wii price will damage their Xbox360 arcade sales not allowing them to reach the stellar numbers they did reach last year.

Yeah, it breaks just like the PS3. Except on the system you are talking about isn't usually covered by warranty

Yeah, and the PS3 doesn't have the failure rates that the 360 has... They had to add the warranty because they were above 20%, which is unnacceptable in electronics...
