Zune HD sold early, still unusable until tomorrow

See that there? That's a shiny new 16GB Zune HD, which isn't supposed to ship until September 15th. Why bother to honor the street date? Ask the cool cats at the Fort Myers, Florida Best Buy, who has no qualms selling our tipster a unit over the weekend. At the time, no 32GB versions were available, and even now, this 16GB unit won't sync with one's PC or do much of anything useful. Of course, Microsoft's pretty much shutting itself down tonight as it readies a new software update, so we suspect all systems will be go within the next 24 hours. While we're on the topic, has anyone else managed to snag a Zune HD early?

I'm so jealous, mine is in the mail to be delivered tomorrow. I might go to Walmart tonight at midnight to buy one and return the one that I get tomorrow to Walmart.

I must admit the Zune HD is far better looking than the original Zune! That thing is just fugly lol!

I would think about getting one of these but us in the UK are not seen as 'special enough' by M$ to get it so my Sony X-Series 32GB will just have to suffice

It's still pretty damn good though... i mean if i hadn't already bought it and the Zune HD was getting released here then i think i would have considered it!

Why MS continues to fund money losing projects is beyond me.

I don't supose that would pick up radio signals in the UK would it?
