I felt the same and bought it - £5 quid seemed okay for a 'so bad you've got to experience it' sort of thing.
I can tell you it isn't horrible, and actually has some good elements, but overall its definately lacklustre.
The good is the music, sound and general production values.
The bad is the rather weak missions and variable graphics - some elements look very good, but I found many others lacking. It can be a real pain actually knowing what to do - for example you might be told to take out some units, and looking around can see nothing but dots. Often I flew around aimlessly wondering where to go. The ability to flick on some form of 'dragon vision' and see mission objectives highlighted or something - or just a plain old minimap - would have made a big difference.
The okay is the controls (note I was using gamepad with patch rather than motion controls). They ain't the best controls, but they ain't the worst.
In short, I'd say I'm sold on the idea that there is a great game in the concept of Lair, but Lair isn't it. It's just an average title that launched with too much hype and weak motion controls. Despite the production values in some areas, it also seems cheap and unfinished in others, particularly mission design and features to make navigation easier.
