they cant anymore, they reached there max debt, with the google OS coming out, and them sending out Zune HD in losses, and them dropping the price on the Elite. However they will stop fighting with PS3 now and start trying to get into the casual market.

You are probably right, but (as the sales of the HD twins gets closer) the costs are going to go up. When will that become prohibitive? Or will it?

Sony has money. But they haven't had to use it in this way since the PS1 days - when they were breaking in to the industry. They certainly didn't expect it to be this close with MS or Ninty. I'm not arguing that it would be SMART for them to buy exclusivity, only that they could if they really wanted to.

and they confirmed it as star ocean 4 and was mentioned it was going for the ps3.

Um no. It was always listed as TBA whenever it appeared on Famitsu. SE never announced a platform for SOIV up until the Microsoft's RPG conference.
@Mirson: That was back in 2006 at TGS 2006... Now 3 years later it might get announced to return to its former home the PS3 - 3 is a good number to make up for hopes :D
There should still be the video on GT.com if Geoff hasnt removed it in the meanwhile
