he's having problems with the steam overlay most likely, you need to mess with it in that case. try disable steam community in-game in settings and see how that turns out. I'm looking at my RE5 icon right now and it says not released, oh how painful it is to my mind to wait until the 15th =X. I refused to play the console version because of the controls, and they fixed all that for the PC version, must play!
