Forums - Gaming - I know why Sony isnt patching in cross/game voice chat.

Its because of the PSeye.

When the motion Controllers release they will more than likely be included in every PS3 along with the Playstation Eye Motion Cam.

(this is a given because its the only way to get the tech into as many houses as possible)

How does this effect the Crossgame VC patch?

WELL!!

The PSEye has an Area Effect Microphone and speakers built in, along with the camera...with this Tech its ALREADY possible to Cross Game voice chat using just the Mic, or if your not in a game and are setting up your party for a game, you can link your PSeye cams together and yell at the random dude thats sitting inside that magic box you play your games on.

So technically Cross Game VC is already here...And out of game Video Chat too.

Thats why.

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

"Welcome to Pain, the second of three...You have dealt the first...now deal with me!!"

If they do a party chat system like Xbox live, it would be great yet unoriginal.

Hmm but most PS3 owners don't have a PlayStation Eye....

Agent Ford got the All Seeing Eye. That's way better than PSeye. But I've seen no parties on it so far.

I'll decide later which one is better.

Ehhh, well not sure I would want an area effect microphone for mulit-player use anyway. People do not really like it on PC either, thats why headsets are so popular.

I personally have a wifey and 2 kids. Sometimes it is tough with the kids running around to talk to my friends via headset on Live, so a microphone picking up everything in the room......probably not a good idea. Especially if you got a kicking surround sound going, you would in essence have to mute you surround sound during game play.
