That's how it is with me. In the beginning, I wanted a PS3, but just too damn expensive. Besides, the majority of my friends have 360's, so that's what I got. I love both consoles, and appreciate what they have to offer. With this price cut, the PS3 looks mighty tempting. I still don't know whether or not I should buy it, since a lot of the games I play are on the 360, yet I think the PS3 has the best exclusives, most of which I haven't played but want to (Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo). I also wish Spyro and Crash Bandicoot would get bought back by their original devs, so the PS3 would be even better.

The fact that many people are buying whatever their friends have is creating a snowball effect on sales. Console gaming is more social than it's ever been before, and the console your friends have is becoming a big factor when it comes to deciding on which to get, especially for casuals that don't really care for specific games.
I actually have a friend who wants a ps3 (pricedrop got his attention), but just about everyone we know has a 360 so he's more tempted to get that. I don't think anyone wants to game alone with random peeps when they can be in the same match as their friends while chatting on the mic.
Sony's been doing some smart moves lately, but they're much too late. I think their biggest weapons are Bluray and brand name. While it does have some great exclusives, there's none that've really got the attention of the majority like Halo/Gears have.
