Shortly after their appearance on the show MS offered the free 3 year warranty extension.
Maybe SONY could be cowed in to a similar move.
Why would someone who already owns a PS3 want to watch. Wouldnt it be people interested in purchasing one?
the ps3 fail rate is no where close to 360, last numbers i seen last month were sony 9.3 percent, nintendo 8.2 percent and 360 58.4 percent still sept of 2009, thats sad, i own both ps3 and 360, my ps3 is over 2 in a half years old, and never a problem, i have had a 360 for about 16 months, in that time i have had 6 360s die on me im on my 7th console, so i believe those numbers, all the gamers i play with about 37, all have similar issues, 1 had a ps3 die, all are on there 3th 5th 360, so not worried
Hopefully they'll get Andrew House to dish out the pain to Robinson.

You should look up squaretrade for fairly accurate reliability figures.

Thats incredible. Where did you get the numbers from.
Is it a reliable source or is it just brainless Man in the pub stuff.

Yes. Third party means they're independant, which is a positive, not a negative. You're scraping the barrel if you think "awkward chart" says anything about their reliability. More importantly, they use a very large sample size.
