Forums - Microsoft - Why won't Microsoft hurry up and ban these pirates?

Seriously why won't Microsoft ban the people in the US who are playing ODST so early? They haven't even shipped the street dated title, yet several thousand people with obviously modded XBox consoles have played it. It's a crying shame piracy exists, but even more crying shame that MS has the gamertag of so many people who have done it yet done nothing.

Before you say "Well are these from the US?" consider the fact I selected America for the region. There are obviously others playing it different countries, but piracy just falls in America alone.

It also doesn't count (obviously) the people who have modded their XBox but aren't on Live.

So much for gold members with modded consoles not existing, because they obviously do.

It was released in France at many stores last month..

Some of those may be pirates but if they're playing it connected to Live most of them probably aren't.

I would say a good amount of them are:

  1. People in France who got it early
  2. People in random other places that got it early
  3. Testers/Bungie employees

Several thousand testers and/or bungie employees?

The region is US/USA, and of course I'm not finding copies for sale early on eBay but maybe somewhere else?

I firmly believe many are still pirates.

This sums it up.  MS said they would be banning anyone who was playing it early using a pirated copy.  They specified that if you attained a legal copy early and were playing you would not be banned, so they are doing stuff about it, and they can obviously tell which ones are pirated and which ones aren't somehow.

Region is US as I stated again. How many copies were sold through eBay to the US? I can't seem to find any recent or completed auctions.
