Zune HD not coming to UK

Microsoft has confirmed the Zune HD will not be showing its face in the UK, or at least not any time soon.
The Zune HD will be released in the US next week, and there had been speculation that Microsoft might finally bring the device to Europe.
However, the company has now put paid to that hope, confirming that "for the time being the Zune HD device will remain US only."
"Right now we are focused on deploying an exciting service in the form of Zune Video to 18 markets," a Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed. "We are looking at potential future hardware experiences for these markets, but do not have anything to announce right now."
Instead, UK users can look forward to accessing the Zune Marketplace through their Xbox consoles, which will offer videos, music and podcasts.
While the absence of the first two Zune players didn't overly perturb UK consumers, the Zune HD comes with an OLED touchscreen, HD radio, wireless connectivity and web browser, making it a viable challenger to Apple's dominant touch range.
It's currently being touted in 16GB and 32GB versions, priced at $219 and $289 respectively.
Still, we can always cling to the phrase "for the time being".
AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
