Forums - Microsoft - Halo: Reach Will Probably Be Bungie's Biggest Game Yet

I cannot wait. I keep imagining like a Gears of War level graphics with Halo (not the character models, just the overall graphics level). That'd help a lot to get people more involved in the "humanity's struggle for survival" story if it looks more realistic (like the cgi trailers and live action stuff).

Seems if Gears of War 2 can be fit on one DVD and still have a horde mode and 2 player splitscreen co-op, then Halo: Reach should be able to do that too. Heck if they have to put the multiplayer section on a separate disc I'd still not mind, because you usually don't jump from one to the other and would only need one disc. Or maybe install the second disc and not need it in to play. I just want the most amazing looking, story driven, feature loaded Halo experience possible!

Despite my impression, I am also wanting a more of a "Mass Effect" style Halo, but with better action mechanics, and less RPG elements. I guess more BioShock-esque, but with some AI buddies.

Bungie was on the prowl for both networking and animation engineers a while back though, and their comments here definately seem to imply something more than a graphics and SP gameplay upgrade. I'd be happy with a seamless-world, much more robust SP game, but I think Bungie and MS are less into appealing to the BioShock crowd, and more into appeasing the MP crowd that has kept Halo kicking all these years.

I hope they dont get caught up with the whole Killzone 2 engine graphics BS and forget to include coop.

Anything less than 4 player coop campaign is unnaceptable for halo...now that the bar has been set.

cant wait for ODST so i can get my hands on the halo reachbeta!! finally a new online halo =)

3 year cycle sounds great, but I don't think the engine comparison of Halo 2 to Halo 3 is super flattering as the leap there wasn't huge.

And I can't see this being a bigger launch than Halo 3. :O

Dude the difference in graphics between them was huge.  That's like saying the difference between F2 and F3 isn't that big.

I don't see this amassing halo 3 numbers. They should call it Halo 4 to sell more copies because it sounds like a smaller title/spinoff

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I am sure the MS hype machine will take care of that.

I didn't see it. I enjoyed the game for different reasons, mostly the coop campaign. I love coop campaign.

Can't wait for details on this either. But sounding like it's a full project and not just a spin off so that's great.

'our hardcore focus is going to be on getting Reach done'
