Forums - Sony - GT5 2009 release is becoming another worst kept secret special from Sony

Hope this game sells well in NA though; it's not even in the top 40 for pre-orders! The GT franchise is a shadow of what it once was in NA.

I'm more then sure the game will sell in the millions though in EU = MORE GT TITLES!

Yeah, kind of already answered but you can't really pre-order a game if it's not available for pre-order. Pre-order means that the supplier or maker has opened the gate for pre-orders to be taken, and that obviously mean there is the requirement for an official release date.

Please not this year...

It has to be on purpose
no companies screws up this bad...

Sure they do. Just not quite as often and in such quick succession, each time associated with the lead up to an important convention:

2009 Sony "worst kept secrets"

PSPGo - leaked (including ditching of UMD) Pre E3

PS3 price cut - leaked Pre Gamescon (anticipated for at least 6 mopnths prior)

PS3 slim - leaked pre E3, but not credibly until pre Gamescon

GT5 release in 2009 - allegedly leaked pre TGS, we'll see.

One leak is an accident, 2 leaks is a screw up, 3 leaks is deliberate marketing tool.

Every day that goes by I lose a little more faith in an 09 realease.
They better have something to say at TGS.

it wouldn't make sense for sony to keep a release date a secret. If it was going to release this holiday, sony would have said so by now. The time would have been at e3

If sony announces the release date is going to be in a month or 2, that gives very little time to build hype, pre-orders, and consumer awareness. So if this rumor is true, I would have to call Sony stupid.

Personally, I am going to guess we will be seeing gt5 in march or april of next year.

GT PSP's October release was announced in June. That's three months.  If GT5 is announced for December at TGS in September, that'd be three months yet again.  It certainly isn't out of character for Sony/Polyphony.

I personally think Sony lets these leak on purpose.
Hey, it could be......

Indeed.... or they just suck bad at marketing...

Why hiding a release date ? Wtf ?

It doesn't make sens to me...OR (!!)... they want to heavily bundle it but they fear that it might slower the actual slim sales....

They might want to avoid that people don't get the naked slim and wait for a GT5 bundle.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

In the latest Slim commmercial, they show off GT5 among their other upcoming games, of which the latest to be released is God of War III. They use the same photo they used on the GamesCom brochure.

GT5 is definitely coming very soon.

I'm sure that the mom on the picture will be pleased that her two lovely kids play GOW III
