Libellule, you prolly dont have a PS3 right? In october and november PS3 will be getting Uncharted 2, Demon souls, Ratchet and Clank, God of war collection, and maybe GT5 or it can be in december. Anyway Halo ODST and forza 3 will sell as hell but I dont think theres a lot of past gen gamer waiting to purchase a Xbox 360 for those games because they would have already did it by now to get Halo 3 and/or Forza 2.

meh im gonna high ball it

400k

I sold 3 ps3s myself at work today. We've sold 45 this past week. On a normal week pre-price cut we'd sell under three a WEEK, often just one and sometimes none at all.

I know this is purely anecdotal, and my store is likely hardly representative of the entire nation, but I have the feeling that the ps3 still performed very well this past week.

For NA, I'm feeling 80-100k. I have even less data to base estimates for the other territories on, but I'm thinking 150-200k for EU, and 40-60k for JP. That means 270-360k for this past week. I'm almost sure it will top 300k.

Kinda odd that you'd predict an equal percent drop for both the EU and NA.  The slim was released in most stores a week earlier in NA, and had week on week gains for two weeks in a row.  The drop in the EU should be a good bit less substantial given that the Slim had been around for less than a week, no?

About a 50% drop is a conservative estimate. Anywhere between 250k and 300k, closer to 275k.

So under 250k WW would be on the low side and anything approaching 300k or higher should be considered strong, barring any availability issues in certain markets, in which case over 300k would not be unheard of.

Even if it's between 200k and 300k, it will still be a success. It can't sell half a million every week, but that will still be good.

I didn't go that far in my thinking, it was just a quick prediction...

That said, I think there's another factor which may partly counter what you said, which is that the price cut went into effect earlier in some European countries (at least in Southern Europe).
