I found my old Halo Combat Evolved book,and i was reading the story and i came across this

"On Reach, a secret military project to create cyborg super-soldiers takes on newfound importance. The soldiers of the SPARTAN-II project rack up an impressive record against the Covenant in test deploymentsssss, but there are too few of them to turn the tide of war"

Next paragraph says

"Existing SPARTAN-II Soldiers are recalled to Reach for further augmentation. The plan:board a Covenant vessel with the improved SPARTAN-IIs and learn the location of the Covenant home world. Two days before the mission beings. Covenant forces strike Reach and annihilate the colony. The coveant are now on Earths doorstep. One ship, the Pillar of Autumn, escapes with the last SPARTAN-II and makes a blind jump into space, hoping to lead the Covenant away from Earth"

Do you guys think it could take place on the Coveant's homeworld? That would be EPIC!

How could it if the mission to find the homeworld was never able to happen due to the sudden Covenant attack?

This game will be amazing. It would be awesome to fight on the Covenants homeworld.

Every Halo game is a first day buy for me.

How will the story unfold and link with other Halo games in the series?

The multi-player aspects of Halo:Reach will be amazing. After experiencing both Halo 3 and Halo 3:ODST. Halo:Reach will be a great new experience for Halo fans.

OH yeah,well shit i dont know i was suprised to find info about in the Instruction book,Who knew 7 years it would be useful.

if you had read the book and understood the story you would know that the ship jumps to the first Halo ring found, and thats were Halo 1 starts, so no i dont think the game will take place on the covenant homeworld, because that never happens :/. We've known this info for years so its not new either.

The book ends where Halo 1 starts.

And that is not really new info :s... Read Halo Reach and then you will get plenty of info.

Like everyone else said if you read Halo: Fall of Reach and Halo: First Strike theres a ton of info in there about what happens to Reach after the Chief leaves for Halo. In fact it continues the stories of the Spartans left on the ground to repel the Covenant forces.

I'd expect Halo:Reach to take place on Reach, possibly continuing the stories of the Spartans left on Reach as Mendicate Bias says.

Also, there is no single Covenant homeworld... The plan for the Spartans was for them to find the dwelling place the three major prophets and kidnap one of them, to try and force them to sign a cease fire with Earth. The Capital of the Covenent was High Charity, where the major Prophets dwelled, which is featured prominently in Halo 2 and appears again in Halo 3.
