There's a diffrence beetween street price and RRP.
In Poland RRP was 1699 PLN for fat ps3 with shops going as low as 1300, now RRP for slim is 1399 and shops go as low as 1250-1300 so virtually same but for people buying in hiper markets or high street shops diffrence is big.
Plus there were people who were waiting for smaller matt ps3 for few months already.
