Nov 2008 seems a bit early but this is Insomniac we are talking about so it is very possible.

About two years is about right as long as they don't have any huge set backs.

A member of NeoGAF forum is a worker at Insomniac and he says that they have been working on another PS3 game for months now, it's probably Resistance 2. It is easier for Sony devs to produce games quicker since they have all the resources at Sony to work with.

I don't doubt this rumor at all but the worker at Insomniac hasn't replied yet so until he does, it's rumor.

A large amount of resources doesn't always necessarily mean faster development time. Some pipelines can only support so many people and adding more people to the project doesn't really speed things up like you'd think they would.

If you haven't heard of the mythical man month, google it and read about it. The easiest way to think of it is like this: one pregnant woman takes nine months to have a baby. Three women don't take three months to have one baby, it still takes nine months. Add more people to a project doesn't always make work go faster.

And I wouldn't expect the Insomniac employee to say much of anything else. He's probably some random non-senior employee and the leads might get a little angry if he announced the game he was working on (though you're right, I would be surprised if Resistance 2 was announced).

-edit-
Wow, with comments like that I almost start to think you don't like me very much ssjj12.  :-p
And saying Resistance has the same level of storytelling as Half-Life is just silly, it's closer to something like Gears and only slightly better than Quake 4.

Come on Twestern. What do you have against me? Why do you want to make my job harder by flaming threads this way?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

More great news from the Sony camp, RFoM is by far one of the best games ever made.  RFoM is a masterpiece of engineering technology and the best shooter made on any next gen system.  The levels and art design are the best since Killzone on the PS2.

^ Never mind Twestern, your posts are relatively reasonable now...

Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal - November 2, 2004
Ratchet: Deadlocked - October 25, 2005
Resistance: Fall of Man - November 14, 2006
Ratchet & Clank Future - Tools of Destruction October 30, 2007

Huh, i wonder when Resistance 2 will launch.

I was about to say, I've been fairly calm for a while now. :-p

At the very least at least I'm on topic and not talking about my general hatred for the Rich Text Reply. >_>

hehe. Nice report Gran. Well on that note, I'm bedbound. Goodnight VGchartz

Thanks for bashing my post Stof, i would imagine you will respond to my most recent report of trolling and take immediate action

EDIT: i see you saw my report, have a nice night stof :)

Wow Twesterm, what do you have against the PS3?

Resistance, while easily not the best FPS ever made, was leagues above mediocre.
It has a great story as far as FPS' go, and its weapons were far more creative and fun then most other shooters out there. Not to mention its robust online play.

Definitely a good shooter, and easily a great launch title.

I second that. It's a hugely fun title. It's very, very hard to get shooters right on consoles, due to slow turning speeds and the lack of mouse-like precision control. But Insomniac delivered the goods on this one. Great controls, responsive action, hugely fun weapons, wild melees mixed up with occasional vehicle action, and of course that great story, chockfull of witty references to Half Life, Godzilla, and a thousand other alien-invasion stories. The first time you hear the US secret forces referring to Nathan Hale as "Grayskin" was stunning. Very, very few shooters ever reach this level.
