And generally, do every routers work with every modem?

The router I have right now is fast and all, but it's a clear piece of shit. It randomly goes down and doesn't come back up, it connects and everything but I get no internet from it, when I connect the modem directly to my PC, I get internet.

So problem? Router, no questions asked.

Any router should work with any modem. I don't know about the D-link, I have no experience with that brand. I recommend Netgear or ASUS, with ASUS being the better of the two brands.
