for me it was how good the DSi turned out to be
Fable III and Golden Sun DS being confirmed were big surprises for me. Galaxy 2 was, actually-I didn't expect to see a 3D Mario sequel.
Hardware wise nothing really stands out. The surprise of Slim/Go was ruined for me by Sony's inability to keep secrets.
The last couple of months could actually hold some of the biggest surprises of the year. Nintendo's October summit and Q4 sales could be very surprising, for everyone.
300€ slim + 500k sold in the first week, I knew a lot of people were very excited to get the slim but that 500k was overkill, I was expecting something like 300k max.

Unexpected adds to both PSN and NXE 5. Killzone 2 being so overrated (Thought it'd be great but...........not so much) |
Actually Killzone 2 is underrated... The games sales is not deserving as of its score.

Slim selling (probably) above 500k in one week. That was a big surprise and bigger than any others this year for me.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

LOL... and Cavs actually lost in 6, not 5.
I agree that Batman AA is a big surprise. When was the last time EIDOS made a great game?
Wii Vitality Sensor is another. We still don't know what the hell it does other than putting people to sleep.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
Shadow Complex was really nig suprise as well...Our main magazine gave it 10/10.
I hadn't ever heard about it tho I am supposed to know everything.
Take my love, take my land..
