Kantor said: Erm....you confused Review with Preview and Famitsu with Dengeki.
So, ToV was reviewed by Dengeki and FF14 was previewed by Dengeki? Or Famitsu?
Anyway, 80 + 95 + 95 + 90 = 360 (:O) or an average of 90%. |
Woops I may have read the link wrong and Selnor how is this a stealth troll? Almost everyone even the 360 japanese fanbase have called the TOV PS3 the complete version because of the amount of EXTRA content stuffed in the game

I dont have alot of respect for the Japanese fanbase. From my experience they think they are better than the rest of the world. But thats MY EXPERIENCE. Also they shun every single outside product. Even great western games. I'm actually very glad the west is becoming the driving force for gaming of late. The ideas are much more advanced.

Do you have any proof or evidence to back up your experience? Maybe it is just a preference toward the style of Japanese games. I know many people in the West of whom dislike Japanese games. It could also be that Western games have NEVER been big in Japan. Japanese games on the otherhand were the driving force during the Nes, Snes, PS1, and to a lesser extent the PS2 eras in the West, so there is much more of an impact. I doubt the average person thinks "Oh this is a western made game, I shouldn't buy it because we are better." Hell I doubt most people even look at the developer with the exception of the large ones. Maybe your experiences are only limited to the smaller segment that actually believes as such, but I doubt on average this is the case.

Quoted For The Fucking Truth!
Selnor according to your logic JRPGs aren't selling well over in the west because WE think we're better than them. And The Japanese will always be the driving force behind gaming. They saved it, they evolved it and they are the ones taking it to new heights. NES, SNES,Wii,Genesis,Dreamcast, PS1,PS2, All revolutionized and evolved gaming into what it is today. And guess what they all originated in GASP Japan

Non not at all. I know someone who lived in Japan teaching young children English. They literally said the Japanese will almost always choose a Japanese product over any other, even if it has less functions and cost more. (She lived their 3 years)
I love alot of Japanese influenced games. But JRPG's I believe dont sell well in the west like they used to, because WRPG's have evolved so well that now they are a major force in RPG's. They have taken a brilliant direction while JRPG's have became stagnant.
And to your last point. Thank god America is stepping up with Xbox then. I agree Japan has been the driving force in the past. But recently not only is Western game development currently better than Japans but I hope Natal succeeds because it will make the competition much better.
