The Halo Franchise has been for a while hitting both PC and console. It's success has even surpassed box-office movie sales. What makes it so success? Thats really hard to pinpoint why the game franchise is as highly rated as it is. Halo 3 finishes off Bungies part of the Halo story, leaving Peter Jackson to make his trilogy but thats a different yet questionable discussion.
The story comes to the end in Halo 3. The story in itself isn't anything special; hero goes fights enemy aliens, teams with rebel aliens, wins, the end. John aka Spartan 117 aka Master Chief is the hero again. Through 10 - 12 hours of game play you finish off the game. The ending can only be properly watched if you beat legendary. Truly the ending could have been better.
The game play itself is pretty good. The AI is fast and furious with a good mix of retarded AI for cannon fodder. The only downside is that the game goes from hard to soft as snow even on legendary. Multi-player has improved over Halo 2. The new grenades and taking mounted weapons off their stands is always fun. The ability to switch around weapons and vehicles in a map is fun for consoles.
The audio sadly sounds the same, does most of the weapons have to sound like you can buy them at a toy store?
My Ratings:
Graphics: 11/15 – Not the best a 3rd generation game should look but still nice.
Audio: 6/10 – Mattel should sue for copying their audio
Game play: 13/15 – Very strong game play, awesome multi-player
Replay Value: 15/20 – There's only so much to do, even with Forge.
Overall: 9/10 - Awesome game but still has allot that could be improved.
