Forums - Microsoft - Elite falls out of Amazon top 50 & proof that ODST not a system seller.

Elite is in the Top 50, and ODST is in the top 3. Except amazon ranks are always wonky. Sometimes Deals of the Day which aren't even a deal anymore are sitll in the top 10. I doubt people are buying them at the higher price

y is this news?

Above I'm a proud Gran Turismo fan, not a Sony fanboy, and now a proud 360 owner, but sharing xbox live accts ATM

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.

Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)

End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):

Wii: 81 mil  360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil

ms messed up they should of had the arcade at 180 and elite at 280 if they wanted to compete with sony this holiday season

Last time I checked 360 sales were up as well since the price drop.

ODST ranking is artificially high on Amazon because they are giving away a $10 video games credit when you buy it. Otherwise it would likely be a bit lower (somewhere around 20 I would guess).

Dude they give away $10 credits or release day delivery on most big releases. Matter of fact most stores not gamestop do these day

That's just not true.  Go look at the upcoming big releases (or current big releases) and ODST is the only one with this credit.  RB - Beatles, Batman AA, MW2, Uncharted 2.  None of them have it.  But hey, it was a nice try.

God, amazon sales tracking threads are dumb.

I agree that a majority of buyers of ODST already have a 360.

Just like the majority of people who will buy Uncharted 2 already have a PS3.

It's already difficult to get into a series without playing the first, and even more difficult to warrant buying a console for one game that you have never participated in.

Now if ODST was the first Halo on 360, then I could see it selling hardware, but as it is the second (though not the same genre) I don't see it having a big impact on hardware sales.

Not currently.  These are limited sales.  I've seen similar ones like this for GT5, Infamous, Madden, Forza, Uncharted 2, etc.  They all have random deals for pre-orders.  But hey, it was a nice try.

In before "LOLZ ITS AMAZON!"

...Oh wait, darn. Even the baby seal pic came up already.
