Forums - Microsoft - 2009- the worst year for 360 exclusives?

It has been somewhat dry for the past couple of months in terms of retail exclusives. But XBLA has been providing some great content. The end of the year should finish off rather strong with ODST and Forza 3. Multiplats will provide some great experiences as well. L4D2, Borderlands, Dragon Age, MW2, etc. Should be a good end of the year for 360 gamers.

To tell you the truth both the 360 and PS3 will do very well in 2010, but the 360 will own that year. But to stay on point, you're telling me you have no intention of buying Left 4 Dead 2 even though it looks far superior to the last version? COD5 (Which will obviously be better on the 360), Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST, Forza 3, Magna Carta 3, Shadow Complex, Ninety-Nine Nights II or Star Ocean 4? I'll admit that the PS3 had the strongest games of 2009 though, but 2010 will be the 360's for sure.

I don't have any intention to buy Left 4 Dead 2 or ODST unless after a rent they convince me otherwise. Which if L4D2 gives me the amount of content I expect from a full retail game and makes me forget that I felt ripped off the first time then I will certainly buy it as I really did love the first one. As for the other titles, I'm not interested in them at all as of now, except for shadow complex. I am going to buy that. I loved the demo. :) Also, COD5 i'm getting for ps3. My closest friends all game on the ps3 and other then some dlc maps as of now the 360 version isn't looking any better.

The 360 does have a good library this year. It can still be good and be the worst though as imo the 360 hasn't had a terrible year for exclusives.

I wouldn't give the 360 the title of 2010 yet. lol It will have an AMAZING year but there are so many games coming next year that haven't even been announced yet, and come on....GOD OF WAR III!!! lol But I'm a huge GoW fan. I'm really looking forward to Heavy Rain also. Mag I'm not very excited for, but I am for modnation Racers. So for me it's 3 for 3 right now. ;) But that is SO far away and SO much will be announced. I'll tell you what though, both my PS3 and 360 will be played A LOT next year. And that makes me happy. Hell, I might even play my wii again next year! :D

I agree its not as strong as previous years in terms of blockbuster hits but there have been a few games running under the hype radar that I think will do very well. One is Liberty City stories thats retailing for $40 and I think is going to be a very strong seller. I also bought Halo Wars this year which I loved. Include with that Halo 3:ODST which is a first day buy for me, Forza 3 and L4D2 and you have a solid holiday line up. Members of this website may not be going crazy over these titles but I guarantee you every one of those games will be a massive seller.

Add into that all the big games coming first quarter 2010 and I'm perfectly content.

Oh and about the L4D2 thing I recommend you looking at the previews for the game, from every thing I've seen this iteration offers far more content and replay value than the first one so I think you will be satisfied if you purchase.

Agreed. XBLA has had a GREAT year. Shadow Complex alone looks so amazing. I've just been too busy with work and other things to get it yet. And I'm glad to hear someone else mention Borderlands. I am SO hyped for that title! That's just one of the many multiplats both sides can enjoy this year, including MW2 and Assassin's Creed 2. I mean, sure the original was repetitive as hell, and was seriously flawed, but AC2 looks to have fixed everything and I can't wait to give it a second chance either.

Bobo,

Good man. ;)

I don't know. It's not as good as 2007 or 2008 thanks to some awesome RPGs. A lot of the problem are the titles that were slated for 09 went to 10. Nevertheles, it's a good year.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

probably, but it was still better than the ps3 first 2 years :P

It's one of the best IMO

first 9 months of the year brought

PS3 - Infamous & Killzone 2

360 - Halo Wars, GTAIV TLAD

Wii - Conduit & Madworld

now till the end of 09 brings

PS3 - Uncharted 2 & Ratchet & Clank

I might just have to look into it then. I honestly haven't payed L4D2 much attention since I painted it as a reskineed L4D with some new enemies and weapons. If the content is there, then so will my purchase.

Some people have a very shallow way of thinking.
You think that a game has to be a 60 million dollar production blockbuster to be a good exclusive.

Splosion man, Shadow complex, Halo Wars, GTA4 Lost and Damned were all great. I can hardly find the time to play everything I want.

And honestly, you may not like halo 3 and nothing is wrong with that...but I played the campaign on legendary today for the 20th time (atleast)...with 3 buddies coop. When you play halo 3 like this with all features blazing...it is the must fun coop FPS this gen. PERIOD. Killzone 2, COD4 don't even compete with it since they dont have that feature. And that is before we get in to the MP, for which Halo 3 can goe toe to toe with any other FPS out there...

So what Im saying is...yeah, ODST is huge exclusive.

I didn't really notice. I thought every year was average for the 360
