What they need to do is pay others companies to port some of their wii games over (like Madworld).

Yup.

Edit: So would that work in Sony's favor? Due to the extreme similarity between their motion "mote"?

I'm not sure. Sony's motion controller is not designed to play games like wii games. Sony's motion controller is designed to actually move an item in 1:1 real space, no waggling. so when you swing your sword, you hit where you swing, etc. Sony's motion controller is what the wii mote should of been at launch. It's far more accurate than any other of the motion controllers and i dare say it could end up being the best. If sony can get some developers to make some killer apps for it, you'll see a pretty big launch. As of right now it is far better than Natal/wii mote for gaming though, we'll just have to wait and see what the execution is like.

I think NATAL fares better out of the two, seeing that it can be "patched" into current games already out...just look at the demo for Burnout Paradise using Natal Tech.

sony tech can be patched too, it have a HDD.

wii can't though.

natal isn't 1-1 yet, and price of that camera can go as high 200$.

Can't they downgrade it so that they don't do that cool 1:1 space thing (where if you move the mote, your view can change, and how they can track the actual position of the mote)?

the question for me is, is sony going to steal Wii exclusives and third party games?? that would be cool. I'd like to have a port of the silent hill game for wii.

F.U. Fun University.

Sony and Microsoft this gen motion controls will serve for mini-games porpuses mainly as far as I see.

Balance board, M+, MK wheel....

MK wheel isn't an addon, at all. The Balance board would SOOO have flopped if it wasn't for Wii Fit. Balance Board games doesn't sell very well. Not that there are any.

Motion+ only extends what the Wiimote already does. Yet it's the only thing Nintendo has released so far that is even close to being the same as what Natal or PS3 Wand. Whether it will be a success or not is still to be determined.

Sony and Microsoft are going to be really hard pressed to put out games that can make people buy these things. They have already started to rebrand their consoles to better fit the expanded audience, but they're not there yet. Public perception is vital, just as quality software that appeals to the expanded audience. Overcome these two obstacles and the motion controllers will sell like crazy. Miss one and they'll flop so hard.

There are actually four balance board million sellers....

Admittedly in two they are optional, but only one of them is not mostly designed around the balance board (RRR:TV Party)

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

They are all accessories that help you play software better or differently. Some have stellar software others not so much. But given how many MK Wii players i Know who wont play without their own wheel it's significant enough for customers purchase said accessory.

Eyetoy should be propelled along with Eyepet and few other games that were announced a while back and forgotten about. The launch isn't until spring so they still have time. I'm sure they are trying to hold a few cards close to their chest given how leaky they have been lately.

Sony is big and has many studios. I think now every major season we should see an about equal line up of core titles along with more expanded audience type stuff and family friendly titles. The latter is probably going to be mostly Sony Europe as their most succesful title are eyetoy play and singstar anyway.

Sony has started advertising lately. BB wouldn't have been nearly as successful without the 40 million dollar advertising campaign it had. Wii Fit was helpfed by the healthy fitness fad which is still prevalent but what makes you think sony will never compete in the fitness game ocean? Or continue their Eyetoy games which were all multi million sellers and might be good with better hardware?

3rd parties will probably support it as well. We have no announcements from them yet.

Software and marketing sell everything. I wo

Fitness is a fad? Gyms and personal trainers have been around a bit long to be considered a fad, don't you think...?

You won?

But yes, that about sums it up.

Problem is, you need software and marketing to battle Wii Fit and Wii Sports. Two of the most successful games of all time. You also need to go back on everything that your console is. It's not impossible, but it sure isn't easy.
