It was the PS3's strongest competitive advantage over the 360 that they didnt capitalize on in the marketing. No amount of marketing can communicate with the 100 million fence sitting PS2 owners like telling them they can play all their old games they already have upscaled to near high def only on the PS3. Yes the 80 gig does have it but its also $100 more than the 40 gig. The trick is to not have to pay an extra $100 for the feature. I dont understand Sony's reasoning for leaving it out. The PS2 to this day still has BC with PS1.
