Forums - Gaming - New SEGA Console In The Works?

but no more Mario & Sonic at [insert various sports] franchise! isn't that a huge selling point for the Wii?...isn't it?

Why not? Sega and Nintendo have done cross platform stuff before. F-zero, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, etc. I think it would be cool to see two versions of Mario & Sonic, one for the new SEGA console, and one for Wii HD. With a 4 player console field, I could see ad hoc tag teams forming for different games.

That says it was filed June 14, 2005. I think we probably would have seen something by now.

Too many successful competitors.

hd-dvd and not blu ray hmm..i wanna see how this plays out

HD-DVD is a dead format, so wouldn't it be cheaper to use?

No, because mass production is what keeps cost down.  Using a non-mainstream format will cost exponentially more money.  Do you think it's cheaper for movie studios to release movies on laserdisc (a dead format), or on DVDs?
