I doubt Sony's response can defect the sales caused by Natal.

Why? I've seen the demos for Natal and the Wand and they both seem to be pretty similar in what they can do. Now if Sony's wand turns out to be complete crap then I can see Natal trouncing it, but the same can be said if the reverse is true. Right now neither system has been proven and until the consumers get it no one knows how good either product will be.

Ok let's assume they're both the same thing.... the general consumer will see Natal as "OMG REVOLUTIONARY!!!" and when they see the PS3's wand they will see it as "Wii has been doing that already, copycatters!!".
The general consumer will more than likely lean toward Natal.

Though I can respect your opinion on this, I still think it is extremely difficult to predict the general public's reaction, otherwise MS and Sony would never have been blindsided by Nintendo this gen. My opinion is that the general public will not care that it has been done on the Wii if the Wand a better input device than Natal. In the end, as Nintendo has proven, it is the user experience that counts and that is all the average consumer will care about.

+1 I think your right on this one, I don't dislike Sony, I think they make some excellent product, I really like my PS3, its reliable and a nice overall system. But Nintendo did a much better job with there console this gen, they made it affordable and well revolutionized gaming.
I hope the slim works well for them, but I really doubt it. Maybe GoW3 and well GT5, if it ever comes out, will get the attention needed to sell this console. I guess this holiday will be a pretty interesting time for the PS3 in term of sale, if it fails after that, its pretty much done for, I think.
My favorite games for this gen:
1. Gears of War 2. MGS4 3. Killzone 2 4. Halo 3(Underated by many) 5. Mass Effect
As it has been cisproven that the PS3 is the third fastest selling console in history due to there only being data for Japan on this site, perhaps it should be compared with NES, which, if the data is complete, could have also outsold it with launches aligned.
