^^And just to back you up 500k worldwide, so ps3 slim launch is definately not a fail.
as seen as xbox fans love sales surely they can comprehend that 500k is ALOT for a relaunch.

Any pricecut is designed to lengthen the sellinggraph of a product. If it doesn't do that well or even at all, then the pricecut fails.

The slim can still fail. It's off on a great start, but the true impact will truly be known at the end of the year, or the first quarter of 2010. Any longterm effects would be clear by then.

I believe I understand what you mean, but my point is you're only hurting yourself.  If you deny yourself the pleasure of playing games on a particular console because a percentage of people who own that console try and beat you down for your choice of a PS3, then you're not hurting them or proving a point, you're just denying yourself the enjoyment you could have by owning both.

I guess if it's important to you to make a statement, then have at.  But most of the time when I see people "making a statement" against something, the people they're hoping will be impacted aren't affected at all.

And when you say "you 360 fans", referring to those who try to beat PS3 users down, you need to remember that's it's likely a small percentage of 360 owners.  Also, even some of those who argue the PS3 is doomed do it half-in jest as a tug of war with similarly minded individuals on the other side.  In other words, I wouldn't take it too seriously... they're just posts on a website.

Just reading that GoW3 is only coming out in 2010, thats very disapointing for the PS3. Whats in there lineup this holiday ?
Although Uncharted2 will come out, thats going to be a great game. I've got to buy the first one before the second come out ;)

Ultimately, as others have said, it's all about profitability. The BMW/Mercedes analogy is great, but the difference between BMW and Sony is that BMW posts profits, ergo they're able to continue putting out new products. I'm not saying that the Playstation brand is going to fold, but let's not forget that Sony still loses money on each slim sold. If software sales don't make up for it, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony shift exclusively to making handhelds.

aint they say that they are making a profit overall ? still a loss on PS3 hardware.
