o_O; I'm sorry, but the Dreamcast did pioneer EVERYTHING we are enjoying now, online gaming, high end graphics, Internet browsing and built-in modems. The Dreamcast could be played on High Definition Television at native 480p. The only reason the Dreamcast failed was that they didn't have the financial backing to outmarket Sony.
Dreamcast was such a unique console. Sadly I couldn't really buy one in it's heyday (glad I didn't since it became obsolete), but I love the console and the collection I have now. Playing crazy taxi and all those era games back in the arcades was really fun.. Kind of like an arcade games revival for a while.
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... I will be firing up Shenmue, Soul Calibur 1, Crazy Taxi, Powerstone and a few others on the 9th. The little system who died, because of the PS2 hype machine.
i just recently got a dreamcast and as of rite now its gettin more play time than my wii is.......i'm ask my self all the time now why didnt i get this system sooner.......the more i read on what it could do and the more i play some of the games it has i get more amazed ......im still pluzzed why this system failed......online play , web brower, .......i saw a video online of motion controls on the dreamcast .... first thing i thought was fake but the more i looked in too it and seen it was real i was tripped.........how it the world did this system fail....im glad i got a dreamcast now and i cant wait to find more games ... all i got is crazy taxi.... and sonic adventure right now .......and nfl 2k1.....
If only it came with a dvd player, I reckoned it would cost $249 vs a $299 ps2, it could of sold just as much.

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.
Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)
End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):
Wii: 81 mil 360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil
Why would the Dreamcast being discontinued hinder anybodies experiences? Unless you have exhausted the library of games which is unlikely...
Games were still coming out in Japan until 2007.
Anyone who thinks they have played all the games, look to the ~650 Japanese games that came out and you will find something you like. The Dreamcast plays backups out of the box, so the price is right too.
I still have my Dreamcast. I even have a brand new unopened controller for it. I'm sad it died... Very.
