Forums - Microsoft - Age of Empires to be announced?

This is where MS keeps info for their games for the press. http://edelmanadmin.psni.com/public/?M=D
A new folder for Age of Empires was just added and was updated today, but there is nothing in the folder. It's pretty strong evidence that something will be announced for it. PAX is this weekend. Maybe it will make it's way to the 360 and use Natal.

Nice catch

AoE would be so epic! I'm not a fan of many RTS games, but this series alone rocks so hard.

XBOX LIVE: macr0planet

PSN: MacroPlanet_DSGN

Steam: MacroPlanet

Modern Warfare 2 - Uncharted 2 - Assassin's Creed 2 - Mass Effect 2 - Alan Wake - Forza 3 - Splinter Cell: Conviction - God of War 3

I hope this is true!

My dream is an AoE game that goes through all of human military history at least to WWII, from Legionaries to Knights to Musketeers to Panzer tanks.

Back on topic, it would be great if they brought this to 360 also, I would definitely double dip.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

Imagine a Natal enabled Age of Empires?

OH. MY. GOD.

there already is a game like that.

Ensemble studios was a very impressive studio back in the day but they were good at RTS games and they never grew with the genre. Their skills were good enough for console RTS games (like Halo Wars) so it's a shame that Microsoft took them down, I still think it's a very EA thing to do. If the next AOE is going to compete with moder PC RTS games then the license is better off in another studios hands but if it's for the 360 or Natal then the old simple AOE gameplay would be perfect and ending Ensemble Studios gets even worse.

Nice find.

Please kill this person!

I don't mind it being a port later on to natal, but if they're doing one it must be on the PC! Imagine if Halo Wars came on the PC, there'd be no stupid limits and you'd have much more freedom; But companies greed for money saw this cash in on the Halo brand for the Xbox.
