Forums - Gaming - My mini Batman: Arkham Asylum Review

So I missed the 3 day sale at Best Buy where this game was on sale for $38 so unfortunately I had to cough up $70 and buy it from EB Games. I didn't think it was worth the money but Batman has been my favourite superhero so I convinced myself to buy it. And boy, I'm so glad I talked myself into purchasing this game because it is AWESOME!

Presentation: The whole game is so stylishly done; the dark atmosphere, the scripted events, the intense story...everything is just so damn amazing!

9/10

Graphics: There was some texture pop-in and a few glitches here and there. Enemies don't look particularly detailed either, but Rocksteady still successfully creates a very dark and believable environment. Batman's movements are also very fluid.

8.5/10

Sound: Voice acting is superb and the thumping score is fantastic. I just wish there was more of it, the music really reminded me of Christopher Nolan's films.

9.5/10

Gameplay: The combat is perfect and incredibly fun, the stealth elements are intense and the detective work is spot-on. I sometimes felt that the camera was too close to Batman and his stiff-walk really pissed me off too, but other than that, this is gameplay at its finest!

9.5/10

Lasting Appeal: I can play the campaign multiple times; the 250 riddles will also keep hardcore fans coming back for more. The challenge modes are also a nice touch. PS3 owners get the Joker content, which is fun (and hilarious due to Joker's walk) but is short lived, since playing as Batman is way more fun.

9/10

Overall: Batman Arkham Asylum is a must have title regardless of the fact if you're a Batman fan or not. This game will blow you away in almost every way and it's worth every penny.
