It seems as if no one on this site ever played a decent MMO... Every decent MMO out there has a subscription fee. This really isn't news. Anyone that knows anything about MMO's knew this already. MMO's require this because the server costs of MMO's are very high. Without a monthly fee they wouldn't be able to profit.

Now as for the 360 version, Gold users better be able to play it for free or cheaper than the others or else shits gonna hit the ceiling!

This game is UNRELATED to XBL, Gold users will pay Silver users will pay the same amount. PC and PSN users will pay .....?

If it is cheaper for the 360 gold members it would have to be due to some sort of special deal worked out between SE and Microsoft(subsidized by them). SE doesnt care where you play their game as long as you fork over the cash for the service.

You will not need a gold membership to play, so you can play for the exact same cost on your xbox or ps3. Your gold membership covers all the other services offered by ms.

God I know all that!  

What I'm saying is if MS was smart they would work out a deal so Gold users payed much less or none at all.  I know thats probably not gonna happen, and I'm saying its worthless.

Why is this so hard for you guys to understand?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Ah, console owners... as expected they can't grasp paying a monthly fee but they understand and enjoy that companies like EA rapes them with useless DLC that makes it so they don't even have to play their game to make their teams/characters super good.

I'll be getting this on PC, I expect the monthly to be $13 like FFXI.

Flopped? Are you kidding me?

I am too lazy to look up the actual numbers, but you do know that FFXI still has a TON of monthly subscribers (all paying 13(?)USD a month +1 dollar for every mule or additional character), right? And it has been around for 6 years now. And it has milked it's customer base numerous times with expansion packs.

Your average FF game makes a pile of money out of the gate, but 3 years later the cheques ain't comin in. I GUARANTEE you that if you look at the profits SE has made off FFXI, they simply dwarf any other FF game by comparison.

FFXI is worth it. There are over 2 million subscribers. WoW has players from Korea and China who make up the majority of the userbase, but they have multiple characters which consitute to the '11 million players' that Activision-Blizzard spews. Plus with WoW, only ONE character can excel in ONE class, and with FFXI you can have one character and switch to any of the jobs freely, and each job supports one another (majority of weapons and armor, not Artifact, and magic). Plus WoW is like Disney's Toon Town, even though I played WoW on my friend's computer at UNC Pembroke, because I noticed how similar it was to Toon Town since a 'handicapped girl' was playing it.

And seriously, who doubted that FFXIV would not have a monthly subscription?? The subscription is worth it, and when I read the posts saying, "Monthly fee? No thanks, not buying this game," makes me want to scream because even though you have to pay a fee, it could be worth it. I know FFXI was because I met a ton of friends on it and I have known a couple of them for 5 years now. Just give it a chance for one month...
