Have you seen the image of the PS3's slim insides? I don't think you'll need to worry about overheating.

Well it's a 13% failure rate so far. Not looking good.
these people probably played the crap outta their PS3s. I think the longest session I ever had on my 60G is about 10 hours, that was before I knew the existence of YLOD, not ever going to go for that long again.

The design is actually the issue. It will most certainly shock some uneducated owners with the amount of heat that is coming out of one area, but sony used highly thermal resistant electrical components on the power supply so that the heat passing over it will not cause any damage to them. This must of been a highly well analyzed choice because it is very cocky to do this. the PS3 slim overall experiences a lot less heat due to the design, but the exhaust will appear to be pushing out significantly more heat, due to that massive fan and how it is responsible for moving 100% of the heat out.

Oh come on, are you kidding me?

hey shut up, i dont lie!

I would agree with most people here that say they were proably just afraid of the heat it was giving off rather than them breaking down.
My 40 gig sounds like a jet engine when it starts to get hot (at least I know it has a nice powerful fan), so if the slims do that I can see why people would be wary.
PSWii60 owner! woot

and out of my 10 friends that have 360's, 10 have rrod'd. So 100% failure rate confirmed?! No, this means nothing
See what i did there.
Actually the thing is...when I checked our system at Best Buy, we had 2 systems out of 30 listed as defective and 2 more that just came in so we didn't have time to inspect them to see if they were defective...so it's possible that the people didn't return it just because they were scared but because it actually screwed up on them.

In other news: A single location already sold 30 slims!
