Forums - Gaming - The Final Fantasy XIII conspiracy: Why the controversy?

If people were fans of games and not hardware platforms, this sort of thing wouldn't happen. The SNES was the RPG platform. People assumed that the N64 would be the same. It wasn't. Did they A) Bitch about it for years or B)By a Playstation to play their favorite genre. We all know the answer. I hate it when there to many fanboys and not enough fans.

That seems to be the problem in this thread.  People are just complaining more about the game not being an exclusive to their favorite system or whining about past grudges to their favorite system instead of just dealing with it and buying the system if they want to play it.

System exclusivity and 'graphics wars' has been around since the NES/Genesis days.  If people are going to complain about it now, they need to get over it.  A big part of the reason FFXIII is in this mess is because SE spent so much time and effort trying to once again make the 'biggest and best looking' game out there.  But the PS3 didn't become the most popular console.  It would be like if SE back in 1995 started putting all their effort and multiple millions developing FFVII....but for the N64.  And then realized, the game wasn't going to sell enough copies to justify their production costs.
