It was partly that, and partly that the control issues were way overblown in the first place.
Congratz on your purchase, btw. I'm always willing to help out a new LBP player grab 100% of all items, so if you want I can add you and we can mess around.
Btw, these are the five "must have" games I recommend to every new ps3 buyer (in order of my liking):
LBP
MGS4
Demon's Souls
Uncharted
Killzone 2
You already have two of these, it seems, and have expressed little interest in another, but I'd highly recommend at least checking out every one of them.
Heavenly Sword and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction are very good as well, and Flower and R&CF: Quest for Booty are must haves on PSN.
