Australia, August 27, 2009 - Microsoft Australia today announced that the Xbox 360 Elite will drop AU $100 in price, to AU $449, from September 22nd. Not only that, but anyone who purchases an Xbox 360 Elite from the day of the price drop through to October 20th 2009 will receive a bonus copy of Halo 3: ODST.

For Aussie Xbox 360 fans everything is coming up Milhouse at the moment. With the Elite retailing at AU $449, the Arcade priced at AU $299 and the Pro selling for AU $399, the system has never been more affordable, and the news that we'll finally be getting video on demand in Australia means our online services will be coming more into line with what's available in America.

I guess its a safe bet US and European gamers will buy it regardless if its bundled.

Will not really drive console sales. Halo 3: ODST is not a title people who dont own an xbox want.

The only thing I may be hesitant about getting it is the thought of what bundle they will come up with after the October 20th date, considering their xmas bundle may be better. I'll probably wait until close to the end of the offer and see what rumours are around or what gets announced for xmas.

Plenty of people tettering on the edge of second console will be suckered into this I am sure. If they did this in the UK or US this would be a system seller and we have Xboxes scattered around our homes : )

Just had some complications with power cables but aside from that it works flawlessly in the UK.

What is interesting is the date this expires is about the same time as the Forza 3 release in Australia
