Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg said that there won't be a Xbox 360 Slim model

I don't know why MS would want a 360 slim, although I'd be interested if they slimmed the brick down (the console unit is fine IMO but not the brick).

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Around the Network

they should just find away to get rid of the brick instead

There's no need for a 360 Slim, it's not the "norm" to do with gaming consoles, even though we've seen it done in the past, and it's PlayStation's "thing"...there's no need for others to follow suit, and it's not the trend for gaming. No one complained that there wasn't a Slim version to Gamecube, Original Xbox, N64, Dreamcast, etc...

DS did it, and it worked great for them.

slim would take time to develop sony probably started after the ps3 was released.

and they have one of the best hardware engineers in the world,.

They could go slim.

There is plenty of space inside their consoles.

Guess they could be afraid about over heating issues again.

They have only just got the original design right in the last 12 months.

What he basically is saying is Microsoft don't know how to make a slim.

Microsoft doesn't need a slim. It wont  make that much difference in sales. They should just stick with the current design

Why would you want a slimmer version of the same console? If you're carrying it around in your pocket, then maybe. I never bought a Megadrive Slim, a SNES Slim or a Dreamcast Slim. It seems like it's a Sony thing to try and sell the same console to people over and over again. I have no intention of paying twice for the same console (handhelds aside maybe), just cos it's marginally smaller, especially if they make it uglier and use cheaper components to build it, as is the case with the PS3 Slim. I'll stick with my old PS3 "Fat" with 500GB hard drive thanks very much. :D

LOL! Wow...are you sure your talking about the same Microsoft as everyone else? Like the Bill Gates one? Don't know how? Belittling MS in the hardware department is like saying Apple doesn't know how to make something sexy, lol. Is "ausmods" from http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=636843 can mod a Xbox 360 Slim, i'm sure MS could as well.

Microsoft's director of product management Aaron Greenberg said that there won't be a Xbox 360 Slim model, "We feel great about our console," he said. "We have taken a different philosophy, adding more value to our existing console through updates and reinventing the system software. We feel like our system has done very well for us in the current form. We have no plans for a slim."

Sound familiar?  From May 2009:

http://ps3.qj.net/Sony-denies-plans-of-redesigning-the-PS3/pg/49/aid/131278

Sony UK told CVG that they "currently don't have any plans for a redesigned PS3," so there go the rumors.

So Sony had no plans for a redesigned PS3 just 3 months before it released?
