Here is a great website that has details and reviews for most Blu-ray Players.

A popular choice seems to be the Sony BDP-S360 or S560 but for the best at about $500 this is the one you should get.

Although without a complete reference audio setup it would be worthless to spend that kind of money and you would be better off with one of the many available $250-$350 range Blu-ray players like the 2 Sony's I mentioned.

What do you mean by a complete reference audio setup? I like the fact that it has 8-10 second load times. That S560 does look like a great player as well.

Reference level audio setup are basically top of the line setups that provide full range audio output.   $1000+ A/V Recievers, $3-10K Speaker setups.   Here is the speakers setup I am going with as soon as I can get the money together for it.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RMN4B2/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000TDEME8&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=18VSRZCGB1T6BFTVA2ZK

I would still need a good reciever to run all of that plus I would still need a second subwoofer and 2 rear channel speakers since I plan on going with 7.2 surround sound.   And thats a pretty low end reference setup,  my fathers tops the 10K range for just the speakers alone.

Okay, that definitely helps. That looks really like the direction I want to go. I wonder whether I can assume that player would have any holiday sales to wait a month or two for.

Oppo players rarely go on sale especially since it just released. Even Amazon has it at $499 with free shipping.

If you can wait they may do some type of holiday deals. Like the 5 free blu-ray deal they did last year with purchase of any blu-ray player.
