It was a few games from steam (world at war being one) and a dvd i downloaded so a few bits but totalled 14gb. but yeah, that would be a LOT of porn lol.

3 gig, with the PS3 im downloading normally around 1MB per second , so 3000 seconds are:

50minutes? thats ok

I live in Australia too. And 3GB is nothing when you're on a 160GB ADSL2+ plan. Sony has really fast servers as well, so doesn't even take that long to download.
Even if you're on a small bandwith plan, 3GB is deffinately worth getting into a GT5 beta if it was real....
