Its still unacceptable that Microsoft can come out with a product that failed at the rate that it did. The worse thing about it is Microsoft won't learn a thing from this, as they got rewarded by getting a big lead on Sony which resulted in games from Square-Enix, Capcom, and other game publishers that would have been ps3 exclusives coming to the 360. (Yes I know Sony had a lot to do with their demise as well with the high price and hard to work for system) If any company that did not have hundreds of billions of dollars in the bank came out with a product or service that failed at over a 50% clip, they would be out of business in no time!  When my NES from 20 years ago still works yet my roomates has gone through 2 360's in a few years that is not acceptable.  It is nice that Microsoft owned up and fixed these but it is still an inconvienience!

What's unacceptable is people still bringing up launch 360 failure rates...

You can't just forgive a company so easily!  It's unacceptable to be blind to the fact that no company should put out a product a service until they have fully tested it, and it is ready for the consumer.  If I started a buisness where I fix your roof and a the end of fixing it I kick you in the balls...is it acceptable if I say I'm sorry my service was not fully tested future roof fixings will not come with a kick in the balls!

So when I had to put my PSX sideways so it would play games....or my PS2 would tell Disc Read error....Nevemind...I think those where isolated incidents...and I did not want to shell out money for a new lens...

It does seem to be past the worst problems.

He continued, "So I think we've made it clear we stand by the quality of our product and we will make it right by fixing the problem at no extra cost to you. But at the same time, we've been working hard to make improvements in the products we're currently making, so I really feel like most of this is well behind us." Greenberg then repeated the fact that three-year red-ring/E74 error warranty is in effect for all 360s already on the market--and will extend in the future to those currently being made.

Can you still mention "quality" when you're facing unofficial reports of 30-50% failure rates?

No, they should say "We give up, our stuff is junk and we're not going to make it anymore, Sony wins!" then all the interweb trolls will squeal with glee.

I for one have been very happy with 360 quality. although, I have little gripes about all my systems. 360 is loud, ps3 runs hot, and wii has that stupid blue light on the disc tray that always turns on at night and ends up waking me up!

Now that's a light sleeper.  The blue light is annoying though.

yep, I am a light sleeper, although, I do have sleep issues, so it is to be expected.  I actually sleep with a big fan in face not so much for the air, but the noise of the fan drowns out all the little noises, so it helps me stay asleep.
