For the 360, I would have added the noise. Just today, I was playing Uno, and the music stopped. It was eerie. The sound of the 360 running blocked out every other noise in the room.

You must have a noisy 360 then as my two here are silent when playing games from the hard drive, the only noise i hear is when you play a game form the disc when the dvd drive is spinning at full speed and that isn't even that noisy, i have a falcon unit and a jasper unit,

I have not got annoyed about the sound of the 360 once in all the time I have owned one.

I have a pro from 2007, so it's probably one of the older models. You're lucky then.

This would be something new for MS to implement.  Something they should have done to begin with(and thought they did, I never tested it though).  No use loading avatar #79 if you are only going to be looking at who is online.

Xbox Live already does this, for example, go to download history, it only loads 50 at a time, when you get to 51 you get a loading icon and have to wait about 2-5 seconds for it to load the next 50, it also does this in the friends list, gamer pics, messages etc.

Try it, go to number 50 in download history or messages, nothing happens, now go to 51, loading icon appears while the next 50 load, think it came in with the NXE update last year as it isn't new, I see it happen every day on mine lol

Ah, I don't have enough friends to try this out.  Disolitude is having trouble with this sort of thing on his friends list though.  Does it do this on the My Friends section of the dashboard where it loads avatars?

It does it in the "blades" friends list but not the new avatar friends list on the main dash, the avatar one for me is pretty slow too, always takes a few seconds to load the avatars up, a bit jumpy too.

My msn messenger also takes aggggges to log in and also causes long freezes but i have 450 people on my msn list so explains it for me.

Ahh, that makes sense then as those were known to be very noisy, the newer models really are quiet, the dvd drives still get a bit noisy when they spin at full speed but other than that all is good,

@montana

yeah the old ones where annoyingly loud... the new ones (my new arcade) are quiet as mice....

Ahh, I wish I could trade. The noise really broke the mood in some parts of Bioshock.

FKNetwork: Good to know.

Same for me... the noise ruined everything (now you can install the game on the HDD so it is getting better).

I remember the face of my wife when I installed it and played Ghost Recon ADVW 2... "what the hell is that noise !!!"

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

I don't have any games installed to my HDD as I only have a 20gb, no room left as it is, on my last 180mb now,

What year was your 360 bought Sardauk?

funny to see so many people finding reasonable the OP... I too think it is fair.

However, the things he dislikes are more of a DEAL BREAKER. I mean, look at the "pros", I can certainly live without many of those things like "1080p showing on my screen, even if I know it's upscaled" or "fast downloads", etc, etc. but now look at the "cons" RROD? Hard Drive serious limitations (especially after he includes the downloading of stuff to a HDD as a "pro"), No WiFi (after he list connectivity as a pro), and paying $50 every year for online gaming? Now all that certainly outweighs the things he likes by a mile. Add the "noise" which everybody here seems to agree with, and I can't see how someone would be motivated by that deal...

Actually, I consider myself a rather serious gamer and I only have a 20gb hard drive, no wifi, and spend more on coffee each month than Live.  No, those things are certainly no deal breaker.

^well, to you.

The only complaint you left out is the overpriced hard drives.
