Forums - Sony - Namco robs Sony

Like you said, we all knew about Ninja Theory (No HS2? ;_;), but Game Republic is a bit of a surprise. I never got into Folklore though, so I'm not really that disappointed.

A Heavenly Sword sequel is right up there with Battlefront III for me. For those of you who don't know my level of obsession with Battlefront III, it's about equal to Ratchet and Clank. (See avatar, sig, username, game collection, etc.)

Up yours? Is this guy serious?

The reason they were even able to pick up these developers is because Sony stopped working with them. Genji and Foklore flopped, and some trouble was brewing behind the scenes between Sony and Ninja Theory, hence why the Heavenly Sword Trilogy is no longer a trilogy.

They weren't stolen. Sony left them. It's disappointing either way, however. Ninja Theory had some potential, and I really enjoyed Heavenly Sword despite its length.

Great, it means we'll see more games from these two.

I'm all for it.

1) HS didn't sell....as much as wanted it to. Too bad, they need to do something to keep a float.

2) Ninja Theory has been having problems since day one ( have great games but be undermarketed and sold badly), hopefully being mutiplatform helps them better ( and give us HS2...if Sony doesnt have the license to that).

3) As much as I liked Folklore ( great concept, bad ending), Genji and Dark Mist were horrible games, so good riddance and I pray for Namco for a soon to be bad movie tie in game)

4) why would PS3 fans feel betrayed? they're gonna get the agmes anyway.

But couldn't Santa Monica just make the Heavenly Sword sequel at least, and maybe make it a better game perhaps?

Heavenly Sword was a markedly different game from the God of War series in both narrative style and combat.  Getting Santa Monica to make a Heavenly Sword 2 would be like getting Insomniac to make Killzone 3.  It just wouldn't be the same.

Yeah, they could but there's no known plans to. I sure hope someone (great) makes the game. I wants moar Heavenly Sword!

"Namco Bandai has effectively robbed Sony of two of its better developers."

==> fail ...

Time to Work !

There's a remake of the Clash of the Titans?
Why does Hollywood have to ruin classics.

Still hopeful it'll be good.

lol wat ? ninja theory hasn't done a ps3 game for a long time. I'm surprised they haven't gon bankrupt.

I came into the thread thinking it might be insomiac or something XD

Check out my game about moles ^

Well, I dont really see this as a negative. Sure, perhaps fans of exclusives will be a bit up in arms. But if the developers can continue to publish fantastic games, even if they go multi-plat, it should be good news, not bad.......right.....>.>
