I like PC gaming because many PC games tend to cost less, be more engaging or have better control. There are also a lot of fun, FREE PC games :)

Guess you are part of those 299 million people that don`t pay for Pc games...bummer...

If you want to get a PC for gaming it cost at least 1000 dollars to run call of duty 4 on its highest setting. Then when your done with that the controls suck (aiming with mouse is really hard)

the only thing good i can see is free map packs and online but who cares if it cost you an extra 500 dollars to buy it than just getting on a console with better controls...help me understand

haha you don't know anything about PC gaming!

A built $400 PC can easily run COD4 on it's highest setting. Hell, a built $3xx PC can even run COD4 better than PS360.

PC gaming is cheaper than HD Console gaming:

  1. PC games are much cheaper on average
  2. PC games drop in price much faster
  3. PC has ALOT of deals every week
  4. DLC is mostly free
  5. Mods are even better than DLC, and free too
  6. There are tons of bundles that give you entire series for cheap

Why do you think there's over 300 million PC gamers?

Too bad out of those 300 million players, only 1 million pay for Pc games.

The rest of 299 million pirate the games (torrent sites are all over).

Don`t believe me? Assassins Creed sol 9 million copies - 4,5 on 360 and 3,5 on ps3. So the Pc sold 1 million...hurray...

http://www.vg247.com/2009/08/24/acii-versus-modern-warfare-2-9-million-original-sales-say-well-succeed-says-desilets/

Pc gaming rulz...

Are you kidding me?! 1 million is a huge success for the PC version of Assassin's Creed! The PC version was supposed to be doomed from the start because:

  1. It came out 3 months later than the console versions
  2. Had no marketing, while consoles had tons
  3. Was the biggest unoptimized piece of crap when it came out
  4. It has only been 1.5 years since it came out. PC games can sell for decades.

Sorry, but if you're telling me that AC getting 1 million on PC is a flop, then I would consider the console versions to be flops aswell.

EDIT: Assassin's Creed 2 will be much more worthy for comparison, since the PC version will come out at the same time as the console versions. You have to wonder why Ubisoft is allowing the PC version to release same time as consoles' if it sold so badly on PC.

You're doing it wrong:

+80% PS3 games in 2009: 31

+80% PC games in 2009: 55

This is according to gameranking.com, which tracks much more sites/mags than metacritic. Metacritic usually only tracks the most popular sites/mags, which almost rarelly touch on small or indie games, and PC has a wide amount of small/indie/niche games.

^I prefer my big franchises like Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Killzone, Uncharted , etc etc. Many indie games I can get for cheap at the PSN store. Of those 55 games ranking 80% + for the PC, most of them are casual stuff I don't care about.

And you're the one doing it wrong, listing just numbers. That's why I listed names. It's not about quantity. I couldn't care less to be able to play 30+ puzzle games ranked over 80/100, or 10 RTS ranked 80+ in one year. I vouch for variety and the best of as many genres as possible.

Your taste of games has nothing to do with this. This is about what reviewers think of the game, and how well the games score.

Names are irrelevant, we're talking about scores. And if you want variety, PC has by far the most variety, and it's only on PC that you can truly get the best experience, regardless of the genre.

honestly, i dont know myself.

i like some PC games (i.e. most blizzard games), but i grab the console version of a game over the PC version anyday.

The vast majority of PC games are free, so I clearly don't pay for them.  However, I've certainly bought PC games including a couple Age of Empires games, a couple Civilization games and most recently Plants Vs. Zombies.

It's all about the controls baby!

The customization of the controls is what I like about PC gaming, The shared game library with the HD consoles, and CHEAPER games is also a bonus. The mouse like controls of the Wii is why I want PC/Wii.
