This is kind of a continuation of my older post about my 2002 PS2. Game-play wise, is there anything that the SCPH-30001 can't do that the newer PS2's can? In other words, could I play Madden '10 on my SCPH-30001?

The newer PS2's have in-built IR for the remote but other than that all games can be played on the old and new ones, i mean not being able to play the likes of SSX (original) on the newer PS2's would be commercial suicide!
