That's too bad, I quite enjoyed Ender's game.

It really is sad to see how many people here just don't get the notion of gay rights... but then again, I recently discovered that half the people here think that gay means stupid...

I'm sure the ignorance and immaturity around here is no worse than it ever was, but it is starting to weigh on me quite a bit. I think I need to spend a less time on here.

@WereKitten

I'm just a very impartial and independent individual. Just because I don't accept something, does not mean I automatically oppose it. I was against Obama being president, but I didn't even vote to try and change that because I think either choice would have been not what our country needed. That doesn't mean I am constantly opposing Obama's attempts at reform, stimulus, etc. I just have a view and don't feel the desire or motivation to act on it as I don't see any real benefit coming out of it.

My religious upbringing will pretty much always prevent me from accepting gay orientation as an equally normal behavior because by religious teachings it is "wrong". At the same time, religion, or at least mine, is based on treating others how you would wish to be treated, so while I may share some personal distastes or thoughts about the matter, I'll never act in a manner that would offend or hinder someone else's freedom as I would never want that to happen to me for any reason.

Much of it is in the different meaning we were - and probably still are - giving to words such as "acceptance" and "wrong".

Target > Walmart?  Perhaps you've taken some drugs... Walmart gets singled out because it's so f'n massive, but Target has many ethic violations.  Then there is the problem that Walmart is a US owned company and Target is a foreign company and you run into problems...

Target Corporation (NYSETGT), usually known as Target, is an American retailingcompany that was founded in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1902 as the Dayton Dry Goods Company. In 1962, the first Target store opened in Roseville, Minnesota, and in 2000 the company changed its name from Dayton Hudson to Target. Target Corporation has units in 49 U.S. states (the exception beingVermont as of October 2008)[2], operating under the mastheads of Target, Target Greatland, and SuperTarget.

Who told you Target is a foreign company?  Walmart?  I wouldn't be surprised if they told their employees that. It would fit their M.O.  I'm pretty sure Minneapolis is American.  I should know.  I live there.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Most likely.  :)

" It's all just trendy garbage that will be forgotten a couple weeks from now. And no, I am not being trite, nor am I trolling, but the absolute truth is that very , very few people that are saying "I'm not buying this video game because of Orson Scott Card's beliefs" are doing pretty much anything else to encourage gay rights in America. Are you writing to your congressmen? Do you openly support it when asked about it at work, or home? Do you attend events and donate to charities that promote equal rights in America?

Yes.  yes.  And yes.

But I don't think one has to necessarily go with others.
